Sickick, if the world was ending

As a creator, director and editor on 'Sickick - If The World Was Ending', I conceptualized the storyline, built the narrative foundation and developed the treatment that established the project’s vision.

Collaborating with animators, I created production timelines, ensuring alignment of visuals with narrative beats.

This project embodies my approach to visual storytelling: a fusion of conceptual innovation, technical precision, and narrative depth. By blending art direction, production strategy, and beat-synced editing, I turned a concept into a cinematic experience.

Dawn Sequence

GenEdit Enclosure, Etosha, Namibia

As dawn beckoned, I stared out past my glass enclosure. I’d strayed too far to the edge, to true wilderness—not that I could ever reach it. The light outside told me the true the time of day, in here it was only what they needed it to be. Forcibly controlled by those who studied us. I studied them back and understood more than I let on.

I stared at the eerie light pulsing from the stark lab. There were the men and women who watched, who observed as we lived and died, updating and editing their notes. We called them the White Coats. I don’t think we meant all that much to them. My last tribe hadn’t.

"Time has a way of not wanting to hold ground," Vitellia whispered, wishing the fire would burn away the thought. She longed to hold on to the life that once stirred inside her—a memory nature had denied. But time kept moving forward, and soon it would outpace any chance she had of
bringing life into this world. Still, she harboured a flicker of hope, perhaps the gods would smile upon her hearth once again and give her what she most desired. With any luck, good fortune might return this very day, much like the light that spilled through the entry.

News had come back on early vessels. Auxilius and the rest of his crew would be arriving by the midday sun and with him, the chance for new life. All this time, she’d held on to her husband’s promise; a year without voyage, a year to venture into territory that neither had fortune to explore.

She watched the fire dance, as her hope flickered in the crackling flame. With a deep breath, Vitellia rose and wrapped herself in the warmth of her cloak . . .

The Door

At the cave's mouth, I stood and gazed into the dark,

Ahead lay a door, a portal to embark,

Above me towered a tale yet untold,

But uncertainty loomed, could I be so bold?

I pondered my options, remaining in the gloom,

But the familiar darkness was a lifeless tomb,

I took a step forward, the unknown path near,

I breathed in deep and conquered my fear.

I stepped through the door, leaving all doubt behind,

Embracing the unknown, a new adventure to find,

The world out there was a sight to behold,

Magic and wonder, stories to be told.

Life is full of doors, waiting to be opened wide,

Ready for those who take chances in stride.

If a Demon Couldn't Take Me, How Could You, Us - A. R. LYON.-gigapixel-hq-scale-4_00x.jpg

If a demon couldn't take me, how could you?

The weight of the question hung in the air, threatening to sever the fragile strands of trust that still bound us together. My mind raced with memories of the past, the moments of laughter and intimacy now stained with the realization that I had been living a lie. How could the person I loved and trusted above all others be capable of such evil?

I steeled myself for the inevitable confrontation, knowing that the only way out was through her. I marched towards my destiny with a grim determination, each step bringing me closer to the truth.

As I stood before her, her eyes met mine. Was there a flicker of regret behind them? I felt a pang of sorrow for the loss of what could have been. But I shook the notion from my thoughts—too late for second chances. There was no time for self-doubt, no time for hesitation.

I drew upon the reserves of strength and courage that had carried me through the trials before. I knew that I had the power to endure whatever lay ahead.

The words tumbled from my lips, each one a blade honed by the pain of betrayal. “If a demon couldn't take me, how could you?”

When Gods Battle

In the depths of the human soul, there lies a battle that rages on. A conflict between our most primal desires and our greatest fears. It is a war that we must wage, day after day, as we navigate the treacherous terrain of our lives. And like the gods of old, we must face these inner demons with courage and determination.

For even the most powerful among us can be brought to their knees by the tumultuous tides of fate. It is not our strength or our might that defines us, but rather our ability to endure in the face of adversity. To make peace with the world around us and find the inner strength to carry on.
